Moms Breakfasts
A monthly breakfast just for moms with lots of support, encouragement, and helpful discussions. Join us and see why so many homeschooling moms say this is their favorite event and the highlight of their month. A great way to “recharge”.
Moms Breakfasts are from 8:00-10:00 a.m. on selected Saturdays of the month. As always, our Moms Breakfast is open to any Mom, not just LIGHT members, so feel free to invite a friend.
Held at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Hilton Rd. in Brighton. Use the East driveway/entrance.

Pizza Hut Lunch & Book Report Club
Pizza Hut Lunch and Book Report Club meets once monthly at the Pizza Hut in Brighton on Grand River at I-96. We eat lunch (those children with Pizza Hut Book-It Coupons get a free personal pan pizza), and then adjourn just down the street to the Brighton Library where the children take turns giving their prepared book reports. These reports can be as simple as a very young one standing up and giving the title of their favorite book or as elaborate as a fully detailed report with a diorama or some other visual aid. The goal is to give our children practice at public speaking in a very warm and encouraging environment.
To join the Book It! program go to their web site www.bookitprogram.com to place your order via the online ordering system or the downloadable order form. Orders can also be placed by calling the Book It! hotline at 1-800-426-6548 (10am – 5pm M-F). Book It is a reading incentive program that offers free personal pizza’s to students in grades K-6 who make the goals that you set each month.

Meals for Moms
LIGHT Meals for Moms is a ministry for LIGHT moms, by LIGHT moms.
If you or someone in LIGHT are in need of meals due to the birth of a new baby or serious illness/hospitalization, we can arrange to have other LIGHT families bring meals to your home. It is not only a real blessing to those it serves, but also to those who are willing to serve.
Make a request at lightnews4u@yahoo.com.
Soccer
LIGHT Family Soccer is a drop-in style, relaxed soccer atmosphere that focuses on building teamwork, basic skills, and having fun. We meet once a week on Friday evenings during September and October. We meet and separate into groups based on age and/or skill. Dads are encouraged to participate, either by assisting, or playing alongside their children.

Roller Skating
LIGHT Family Rollerskating is a once monthly, afternoon activity during the winter months (Jan-Mar). We meet at Rollerama II in Brighton on Grand River for a private skate. LIGHT arranges a special price for our skaters, including a Family Rate, no matter the size of your family. This is a great way to get some winter exercise and a lot of fun for all.
This skate is not open to the public, only LIGHT members may attend.

Ice Skating
LIGHT Family Ice Skating is a once monthly afternoon activity during the winter (and sometimes spring) months. We meet at the Kensington Ice House in Brighton. This is an open skate time, but because most kids are in school at this time, it is mostly homeschoolers. Another fun way to get some good exercise and fellowship at the same time.

LIGHT Ballet
LIGHT Ballet, which combines classical ballet and conservative Christian music, is a unique ministry to the elderly of our community. LIGHT members ages 4 and up are invited to participate. Because some technique training is incorporated into rehearsals, ballet experience is not necessary. However, participants with ballet training will enable us to use more involved choreography. For those currently enrolled in ballet classes, LIGHT Ballet is intended to supplement, not replace, regular ballet lessons. Each fall and spring participants rehearse dances for approximately 10 weeks and then typically perform at four area nursing homes and for a Family and Friends performance. LIGHT Ballet is a semester-long commitment instead of a year-long commitment to allow families more flexibility.
